Rent a house in Lahore with a clear brief

Most tenants in Lahore know what they need: a number of bedrooms, a monthly budget, a school or office to stay close to, and a date to move in. What takes time is finding rental properties that match all four, and then finding out what the listing does not say.

We start with your brief. We look for property for rent in Lahore that fits it, share the details, and arrange viewings when the owner agrees. Before you commit, we point out the points in the tenancy agreement that matter, such as rent, advance, deposit, annual increase and notice.

Where we help

  • Turning your budget and needs into a clear brief
  • Shortlisting rental properties that fit
  • Arranging viewings where access is agreed
  • Explaining what to check in the agreement

What you confirm yourself

  • The owner's identity and right to let
  • Agreement terms and registration
  • What the rent includes
  • Condition of the property at handover

  • Who repairs or replaces items
  • Internet and utilities included or not

Rent in Lahore in 2026: what the latest reports show

Rents in Lahore's main areas rose sharply over the last two years. Here are the figures reported in July 2026, with the sources, so you can set a realistic budget.

Reported average monthly house rent in Lahore, March 2026
AreaReported average monthly house rentWhat to read into it
DHA LahoreAbout Rs281,000Some DHA phases are reported at Rs300,000 to Rs400,000 for a one-kanal house, and above Rs100,000 for a five-marla house.
GulbergAbove Rs600,000The highest average of the areas reported. Large and commercial-use houses pull the average up.
Johar TownAbout Rs224,000A mix of house sizes. Portions and flats cost much less than the average.
Bahria TownAbout Rs165,000Varies widely between sectors, plot sizes and furnished or unfurnished homes.
Smaller homes in central areasRs25,000 to Rs35,000 (2 marla); Rs60,000 to Rs75,000 (3 marla)Reported ranges for small houses in central neighbourhoods.

Why rents rose

Market participants quoted in the reports pointed to inflation, higher construction costs, rising property values, investment by overseas Pakistanis and a shortage of affordable homes. Some tenants described flats whose rent nearly doubled in two years.

How to use these numbers

These are averages taken from property websites, so they mix sizes and asking prices. Use them to judge whether a quote is in range, then compare like with like: same area, same size, same condition.

Properties for rent in DHA Lahore, Gulberg, Johar Town, Bahria Town and more

Choose the areas you are considering and they are added to your enquiry. This is not a promise of availability in any area.

DHA is the area we know best. Phases differ in the age of houses, plot sizes, distance from main roads and nearby markets, so compare phases instead of treating DHA as one market. Ask about the block, road width, solar or backup power, gas and parking.

Read more on properties in DHA Lahore, furnished houses for rent in DHA and commercial properties in DHA Lahore.

These areas sit close to offices, hospitals and long-established markets. Rents here are among the highest in the city, so compare size and condition carefully and ask what the rent includes.

For Gulberg, see houses for rent in Gulberg Lahore.

These residential areas have a wide spread of rents, from small portions to large houses. Check the exact block, because the same area can include very different streets and house ages.

Planned societies often offer newer homes and gated entry, but sectors and blocks vary in price and in how far they are from the city centre. Check the commute at your own working hours before you decide.

Rent agreement and tenant registration in Lahore

Two things protect both sides: a written, registered tenancy agreement and a tenant registration with the police. Rules and procedures can change, so confirm the current steps with a lawyer or the authority.

The tenancy agreement

Under the Punjab Rented Premises Act 2009, a building is let through a tenancy agreement, which is presented before the Rent Registrar.

  • Names and details of landlord and tenant
  • Description of the property
  • Period of tenancy and the rent
  • Rate of annual increase, due date and mode of payment
  • Purpose of use, and the amount of advance or security
  • No subletting without the landlord's written consent

Tenant registration with the police

Under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act 2015, the owner, tenant or property dealer registers the tenancy at the local police station or a Police Khidmat Markaz. Lahore Police describe it as free and done on the spot in about 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Original and copy of the owner's CNIC
  • Original and copy of the tenant's CNIC
  • Original and copy of the rent agreement
  • An affidavit
  • A photograph of the tenant

Check the details with the authority

This is general information, not legal advice. For disputes, eviction or special terms, speak to a qualified lawyer. Useful sources:

Properties for rent in Lahore: common questions

Short answers to what tenants and owners ask most. Still unsure? Contact us.

How can I find properties for rent in Lahore?

Send your area, property type, monthly budget, bedrooms and move-in date through the form on this page. We look for rentals that fit, confirm rent and availability, and arrange viewings where the owner agrees.

How much is house rent in Lahore in 2026?

It depends on the area, size and condition. Reports in July 2026, using March 2026 data from property websites, put average house rent near Rs281,000 in DHA, above Rs600,000 in Gulberg, near Rs224,000 in Johar Town and near Rs165,000 in Bahria Town. Small homes cost much less. Treat averages as context and compare similar properties.

Which area of Lahore is best for renting a house?

There is no single best area. Choose by commute, schools, budget and security, then compare two or three areas on the same size of house. For DHA, see furnished houses for rent in DHA Lahore. For Gulberg, see houses for rent in Gulberg Lahore.

Can you help me rent a house in DHA Lahore?

Yes. DHA is our home market. Tell us the phase, size and budget, and we will say plainly what we can find. Read about properties in DHA Lahore or send your brief through the form.

What is the difference between a portion and a full house?

A portion is one floor of a house, rented separately, usually at a lower rent. A full house is the whole building. Ask about separate meters, entrance and parking when you rent a portion.

Can I rent a flat or apartment in Lahore?

Yes. See flats for rent in Lahore, and ask about maintenance charges, lift, generator and parking before you decide.

Do you also help with commercial property for rent in Lahore?

Yes. We help with shops, offices, plazas, warehouses and other commercial space. See commercial property for rent in Lahore. Always confirm that your business is allowed at the address.

Do I need a written rent agreement in Lahore?

Yes. Under the Punjab Rented Premises Act 2009, a building is let through a tenancy agreement, which goes before the Rent Registrar. Without a proper agreement, both sides are in a weaker position if a dispute arises.

What is tenant registration with the police?

Under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act 2015, the owner, tenant or property dealer registers the tenancy at the local police station or a Police Khidmat Markaz. Lahore Police list the CNICs of owner and tenant, the rent agreement, an affidavit and a photo of the tenant, and describe the service as free.

How much advance and security deposit should I expect?

There is no single figure that applies everywhere. Advance rent and deposit are agreed between owner and tenant, so ask which part is adjusted against rent and which part is refundable, and put both in the agreement with the refund terms.

Who pays utility bills and maintenance?

The agreement should say. Usually the tenant pays electricity, gas and water for the period of occupation, while society or building maintenance can fall on either side. Clear old bills before you take over, and note meter readings on move-in day.

Can the landlord increase the rent during the tenancy?

The tenancy agreement should state the rate of annual increase, so check it before you sign. Changing it later needs both sides to agree, or a legal process.

How do I avoid rental scams in Lahore?

View the property in person, match the owner's CNIC with the ownership papers, never pay a token before viewing, and pay only to the person named in the agreement. A price far below similar homes is a red flag.

I own a property. Can you help me rent it out?

Tell us the area, size, condition and the rent you expect. We will say plainly whether we can help and what documents we would need. Use the form and choose "Let out my property".

How do I contact Noor Noorani Properties?
